Alem, Bete Mariam, and Bete Golgotha.
In the afternoon, witness the unforgettable Ketera ceremony, the eve of Timket, when priests,

from the churches to their ceremonial resting place. The atmosphere is filled with chanting,
prayer, drums, umbrellas, and colorful traditional dress.

Overnight: Hill Top Lodge, Lalibela

Before sunrise, attend the Holy Water Baptism ceremony, the most sacred moment of Timket,
where worshippers renew their baptismal vows. After breakfast, rejoin the grand festival
procession accompanying the Tabots toward St. George Church (Bete Giyorgis).
Spend the day immersed in Ethiopia’s living traditions: processions, church hymns, dancing, and
community celebrations. Timket is not only a religious festival but also a major social event
where families gather and traditional customs are celebrated.
Continue visiting the remaining churches of Lalibela, masterpieces carved directly from volcanic
rock in the 12th century during the reign of King Lalibela.

Overnight: Hill Top Lodge, Lalibela

After breakfast, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony with a local family before flying
to Gondar. Meet your trekking team and drive to Debark, the gateway to Simien Mountains
National Park.

Ark of the Covenant.

Mountains in Tigray.
