First, fly from Addis Ababa to the legendary town of Lalibela, one of Ethiopia’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel for check-in, lunch, and relaxation.
In the afternoon at 2:00 PM, you will begin your guided tour of the famous Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches, which were carved directly into solid volcanic rock during the 12th century. After that, you will visit key churches such as Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Maryam, and Bete Giyorgis. Meanwhile, your guide will explain Ethiopia’s deep Christian history and spiritual traditions.
Finally, Lalibela is widely known as the “New Jerusalem of Africa” and is considered one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world.
