Mount Wenchi:-
rises to 3,386m and the Afro Alpine moorland of its upper slopes, studded with relict patches of natural forest, can be accessed by car via two different optional roads through the town of Ambo or woliso. The densely cultivated caldera encloses a large and beautiful crater lake and the island Monastery. boat cruise over the lake to get to the monastery is also an adventure. The ecosystem of the crater mountain lake offers a variety of stopover points through the hiking trails
The portion is divided in to main group of churches, Northern Group and eastern group of churches. Exclusively one remarkable church called "saint George" set to be stand alon within its cruciform design, but connected with other churches by the trench system.
The lake and its surroundings also keep an important bundle of biodiversity. Regarding the avifauna, there are more that 225 bird species.
The Hot Spring and the bubbling mineral water elevate your experience better. The 15th century AD monastery of St. Kirlos also one of the places of interest in Wonchi. It hosts a large church bell, called the “Gondar bell” because it is said to have belonged to Emperor Fasilidas who reigned in Gondar.
Only 10km to the east, Lake Dendi is nestled in a pair of near-circular 2km wide craters connected by a gap of only 100m in their shared rim.
