Overview

Omo valley, the cultural Garden of Ethiopia and a living museum of four Africa’s major linguistic groups are represented, including the so-called Omotic speakers, a language group endemic to lower Omo valley.
The most renowned of Nilo-Saharan language speakers are the Mursi and Surma, famed for practicing insert the large clay plates in their lower lips of the women.
Different tribes occupy the Omo valley, some of them are numbering tens of thousands and others no more than three thousand and each of them culturally unique.

The dramatic traditional ceremonies are surprisingly breathtaking. All the festival events are strongly important for their social life integrity.

Tour Itinerary

Start the day driving to Hawassa  via Butajira. Stopover after driving 84 km to visit the archeological sites of Tiya (ancient stelae field and UNESCO World Heritage Site). And continue Driving to visit Halaba village. Lunch stop At Halaba. Arrive to Hawassa by 5:00pm before sunset. Sundowning by the shore of lake hawassa is a special way to finish the day including watching aquatic birds. vernight stay  in Awassa (hotel).
In the morning after breakfast, visit the fish market on the shores of Lake Awassa and then proceed driving to Dorze, set in the highlands above Arba Minch. The Dorze people are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving. You will visit the village and learn about the daily life activities. Overnight stay in Arbaminch. ( Hotel or Lodge )
in the morning after having breakfast check out the hotel and go to make a Boat cruise over Lake Chamo. The main fishing resource of south Ethiopia. Hippopotamus and crocodiles are guaranteed to be seen at this lake including the water birds. Next proceeds to Konso for lunch stop and to visit the UNESCO heritage site of The Stone walled village of Konso peoples. Continue driving to Jinka afterwards crossing the stunning Environment of Omo Valley. Overnight stay in Jinka.
In the morning after breakfast check out the hotel to drive through Mago National park to find the renowned Mursi tribe for 45km. Drive bac to Jinka for lunch stop and to proceed the journey to Turmi which is the Hamer tribe provincial town. Stop to visit the tribal market along the road if this is the market day. After arriving in Turmi, check in at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi ( Lodge )
In the morning after breakfast,  take a day trip to Omorate to visit the Dassenech tribe. cross the Omo River by local boat to get to the Dassenech village. Afterwards, return to Turmi for lunch and a visit to a local Hamer village. If there is a Bull-Jumping traditional ceremony of Hamer tribe, will be visited on this Afternoon. Overnight stay in Turmi (Lodge)
In the morning after breakfast, drive to Gnagatom tribes which reside close to the Kenya border. After visiting the village and culture of this tribe, proceed to the village of the Karo tribe. This driving route is very enjoyable for birdwatchers. Return to Turmi after the stunning cultural adventure of this day. Late lunch will be served on this day in Turmi. At the evening go out of the lodge to walk around the Hamer village near by the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi.
In the morning after early breakfast check out the lodge to drive to Jinka for 120 km to catch the afternoon flight to Addis Ababa. On the road see the sick walking boys of Benna tribe. Lunch stop in Jinka town. Proceed to the airport. Arrive in Addis Ababa in the evening by 5:00pm. End if the tour plan will be done after dropping our clients to the airport for their international flight back home. * This itinerary is flexible or can be modified and rearranged, shortened or extended to suit your interest.
