The fife days birding tour will include, Abijata shala park and lake which is the great rift valley area. Debrelibanos, Awash national park and Langano.
Awash is the premier national park for birdwatching adventure which has a rich diversity of birds. Those destinations are also a home of various wildlife. such as, Golden Jackal, Caracal Gelada baboons, spotted hyenas, Beisa Oryx, and Soemmerring’s Gazelle.

Tour Itinerary
n the morning at 5:00am, Drive to Debre Libanos for 100km north of Addis Ababa through Sululta road crossing small towns on the road. This is the best area of birding to find Spot-breasted Lapwing, the taxonomically strange Blue-winged Goose, and other endemic species. We are also quite sure to show you the gelada baboon, the grass picking vegetarian baboons with a complex social system in their kingdom. reach eventually to
our birding zone from where we will look for Egyptian Vulture, Griffon Vulture, Bearded Vulture, and other raptors as they gracefully sail by, as well as Little Rock Thrush and many other mountain birds.
Breakfast by 10 am, at Ethio-german park lodg after the birding adventure of the morning.
Drive back to Addis after making the stunning excursion of Debre libanos, Portuguese bridge, Blue Nile Gorge.
Overnight stay in Addis Ababa.
in the Morning after breakfast drive to Awash National Park in the Afar Plains, where a rich diversity of birds will make their appearance.
In the afternoon, arrive at Doho Lodge in the park. Lunch at Doho Lodge. The rest of the day will be
enjoying the natural hot spring and fresh air of the noon under the vast palm trees as well as walking around the lodge and nearby.
Overnight stay in Awash at Doho Lodge.
Regarding birding adventure, in the early morning start the exploration to find African Swallow-tailed Kite, a host of Bustards including Arabian, Buff-crested, Hartlaub’s, Black-bellied, and White-bellied, Bruce’s Green Pigeon, and tons more. During our time here we also hope to find Somali Ostrich, African Collared Dove, Singing Bush Lark, Gillett’s Lark, Chestnut-backed and Chestnut-headed Sparrow-Larks, Boran and Ashy Cisticolas, Eastern Olivaceous Warbler, Pale and African Grey Flycatchers, Mouse-colored Penduline Tit, four of Africa’s most lovely Sunbirds, namely Eastern Violet-backed, Nile Valley, Beautiful,and Shining, Southern Grey Shrike, Somali Fiscal, Woodchat Shrike, Northern Masked Weaver, Cut-throat Finch, and many others. seasonal migratory birds are also available such as Common Whitethroat and White-throated Robin from September-December. Raptor birds -watching is spectacular as usual in the park. Overnight in Awash National Park at (Doho Lodge)
On this day birding and wildlife safari will continue . Early morning birding around the Doho lodge area and drive to the Ali Dege Plains after breakfast. encounter with wildlife like Gravy Zebra, Gerenuk, and Soemmering’s Gazelle. There is also a rare chance to see Wild ass. Here you will have a game drive and scan the vast plain for Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Simmering Gazelle, Grant’s Gazelle, Somali Ostrich and for some rare birds. Afterwards drive back to Doha Lodge for lunch. Next drive to Langano. arrive by the evening. then walk through the lake shore of Langano. overnight saty in Langano at Svana lodge.
In the morning at 6 am drive to Abijata Shala NP and lake for the morning birding adventure then descend down to the saline lake of the rift valley. Approximately over 280 species of birds can be seen around Lake Abijata and Shalla lakes & National park such as Yellow Wagtails, Ibis, Cormorant, Pelicans, Ducks, Egrets, Herons, Flamingos, Storks, Swallows, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Rollers, Wheatear, African Marsh Harrier,
etc. Branch,open picnic pox in the park. stay some more time in the park to see rare wildlife such as Wild pigs, Ostrichs, Gazelles, and African wild dogs.
Next drive to Addis Ababa. After arriving proceed to the drop off point. Tour end.
